Nelms Consulting Group

Dr. Nelms has frequently been asked to speak on topics related to the creation of equitable systems and administrative leadership. He is also a professor at the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education and Human Development, where he teaches courses in human resource management, school governance, and transformational leadership in complex settings. He is active in multiple community organizations, a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated & Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity Inc., Shaun has been honored with several awards for his leadership and work in education.  

With over 20 years leading complex organizations, Dr. Shaun Nelms created the Nelms Consulting Group to assist industry leaders and their teams, to build winning cultures.  In 2013, Dr. Nelms completed his research which was focused on the importance of distributed leadership in building leadership capacity and efficacy. Using his research as the basis for his leadership decisions, he transformed the lowest performing school, in the lowest performing district in New York State to one of the highest performing schools in the area. At the time, the school was graduating 29% of its students. Through a focus on establishing leadership teams, the graduation rate grew to 86% in 7 years.
